I'm just wondering if this ware on the barrel extension is normal, I bought the gun new and have only put 300 round through it. Tell me what you guys think.

It would help if you describe it. The pictures are useful, but they don't say if it is just surface wear or if there is gouging going on. I know that you can get peening on the extension as things wear in, but it is just minor surface wear. If there is any thing besides cosmetic surface wear in that area, something may not be right.

The area is smooth, and just seems as the finish on the extension is wearing off. I just didnt know how normal this was since this is my first AR 15

Man send that pic by e-mail to the place you got the gun or take the gun to the place ok.when ever you buy a gun and something looks wrong never stop the think ok.be sure its ok.its your life you are dealing with. the gun/rifle has to back up there stuff.I had a olympic arms .223 plinker from Va. beach a few years back.i payed 800.00 for the gun.was not real happy with the rifle at all.#1 the gun/rifle was not mil spec / NATO because a friend had a Colt M4 .223 and tryed to put his upper on it and the parts would not fit.#2 after only shooting the rifle around 200 rounds it started to double fire!! every time i would pull the trigger it would fire 2 times. THAT IS NOT SAFE AT ALL.so i called them and they know what i was talking about and sent me the parts for free.but i had to put in the lower frigger parts, fun to do but after just 200 rounds.but the gun was dry and there was no oil on that parts so it could of been me at falt?so with your ar add a very small spray of oil in the lower to help gun work ok.good luck. tyler in Va.
