I thought someone from Prince William would get back to you by now.

I don't know about Prince William but here in Campbell county, they make you wait until the last day. I have some family in Va Beach and he got his quick, some thing like two weeks or so.

Good luck, you'll get it.

Man - how rude. Why couldn't the clerk just call you and ask what to put there...you say "None", clerk writes "None" and sends it on its way.

So, does this mean your 45 days starts all over?

I agree with the OC thing...just OC everywhere you go until you get your CHP

Seems to me that they are messing with you, prolonging the issue of the permit. My wife and I both left the "Tattoos and scars" part blank without any problem (Madison County). We did complete the rest of the "physical description" box- height, weight, etc., which I could see being a problem if left blank. And I'm almost positive your time will start all over again, the form was rejected for being incomplete (whether it truly was) so the process starts again.

I think VCDL had a point of contact on their web site to contact about this kind of stuff. I'll look around and post it here, you can call/email them if you want. There should be written instructions for that form and I can't find any, that leaves the form open to localities determining how they want it completed. I know most of it is obvious but this one being kicked back is bogus since there are no instructions.

Here's the POC

Chief Justice
Supreme Court of Virginia
100 North Ninth Street, Fifth Floor
Richmond, VA 23219

If you dig a little you can probably find an email address but snail mail can be sent to the above. I'd send a letter and question the lack of instructions for the form and the appearant discrepancies between localities. To me it seems that they are using anything they can to prolong the process.

Unfortunately leaving that entry blank enters a gray area. They can argue, and probably successfully, that the application was not turned in completed. I think most jurisdictions apply a commonsense rule and take a blank on that field to mean "none."

However the law doesn't specify and it would be a tough thing to fight.

Rather than leave lines blank on such an application, it is better to put "none" or "n/a", or for social security numbers, "none disclosed, if any".

I just received my third CHP through Prince William County and I am pleased to say I have had no problems.

The last time I renewed a very pretty young lady took my paperwork and she read over it careful. She noticed I had missed something and handed it back to me to complete it. She was very professional.

It did take 30 days for a renewal but my CHP is not due to June 26th so I had plenty of time.

I got my CHP from PWC a little over three years ago and it took 30 days.

ok, so i contacted them today since they deposited my check 2 days ago and they still have no record of receiving my application? this is starting to get a little strange, the lady that answered the telephone said she would email the person that handles the permits and have her email me so hopefully this gets sorted out.

I moved to Woodbridge from Maryland in December of 2007. In Febuary of 08 I submitted my paperwork for my CHP. I received it in the mail in 28 days. No problems whatsoever.
