I am currently in the process of getting material to build a AR pistol, and i was wondering if there was any way to eliminate the buffer tube? I understand it's function but i have seen other AR builds without it and think is look much better, Any ideas?

If it's piston driven I believe you can. But I have no idea how you would go about doing that. Did you consider that fact the buffer can be used against your cheek to brace the rifle when shooting.

This is Para's rifle without a buffer tube and it's still DI, but it is what they call Delayed Impingement Gas System™ (DIGS™). They say "The recoil spring is over the op-rod so there is no “twang” in your ear as your head rests on the rifle’s stock while the bolt cycles between shots. " I'm not really an AR guy so I have no clue what this means or if you can build a pistol of it. Maybe you do.
