Two women shot — one fatally and the other critically — at an Arapahoe County gun range are twins from Australia, according to Arapahoe County Sheriff's Capt. Louie Perea. The shootings happened Monday afternoon at the Family Shooting Center at Cherry Creek State Park southeast of Denver. Both of the 29-year-old women were shot simultaneously in the head. . . .

Investigators are still trying to piece together what happened. . . .

Doug Hamilton, the owner of the range, said the women were using small-caliber guns and were shot nearly simultaneously. "The ladies hit the pavement virtually at the same time," Hamilton said. . . .

There were more than 20 people at the center at the time of the shooting, but no one noticed a disagreement before the incident, according to investigators. . . .

More info from an Australia news source indicates that perhaps the girls had made a suicide pact. One of them died, the other is still in the hospital.

You know they're gonna start regulating gun ranges to prevent suicides... or so they will claim...

A simple suggestion? If you want to commit suicide, and not cause issues for others? Find a TAAALLLLL building, and simply...step off. Preferably at night in the business district where NO ONE else will be affected.

Unfortunately, people that choose to take their lives never(or so it seems) take into account how their actions might affect others.
My first wife's youngest brother took his life several years ago. He did so with his father's revolver in their garage while they were out of town. They returned to find that. It devastated the family, naturally, but now both parents have that image to live with the rest of their lives.
I thoroughly believe that, by the time an individual gets to the point that (s)he chooses to do such a thing, all logic, reasoning and rational is out the window.

Why would this be any different from any other other dozens of range suicides that happen every year? It's rather common but it rarely makes national news unless it's unusual in some way (like this one) or someone's got some kind of agenda to push.

Because it's starting to make news, and anytime something makes news? Some jackwagon politician goes on a tangent...

They legislate before they think.... many laws can show this.

I had an aunt commit suicide with a gun, from what I heard wasnt as messy as another aunt that flipped her car & came out the top which was down & slid a good distance on pavement.

so far only one suicide got my attention, they loped off their head with a chainsaw as a statement. I read it some time ago, but never forgot it. that had to be a mess. & totall stupidity, & suprised the saw cut through bone to completely sever head. I would have guessed they would have just bled to death in agony.

so now are they going to regulate chainsaws? I know in close quarters a running chainsaw is probably the most dangerous weapon a person could have.

you might be a redneck if you keep a chainsaw beside bed instead of a gun. lol lol. no personal experience, but then again gas fumes, to be ignited by the wood stove when dog takes it to chew on it over near the stove. lol
