The current VCDL newsletter has a short thank you note about subject indoor range. Anyone heard of it and/or know where it is and what capabilities they offer? Can't find anything with Google and the article provides very little info. Thanks!

There is talk of a range by that name in
THIS thread. While some were aware that it was to be built, it seems that nobody here knows whether the range actually was built.

I went to VCDL web site and read the newsletter. Looks like it is referring to those who worked to have the range built and thanks them. It was dated last November. I'd guess that the range still hasn't been built based on the discussion in the other thread.

I thought it was to be built over the remains of my old rnge, the Great "Shooters Paradise"

It is supposed to be build on the far end of the shopping center next to the old Gaint food store. It was supposed to be done in March, and then I was told at the VCDL booth in would be done in Jun. I drive past the site and can not tell that they have done any work on the building.

I rarely get over that way since Shooters Paradise burned (and I don't need day laborers), but my wife and I went by there a couple of weeks ago and it doesn't look like anything has been done. I wonder if financing fell through.

Shooters is located 5139 Stanart St in Norfolk. It's a very good range especially if you are taking your family as it it ultra clean and is lead free. There are 11 stalls and it shoots at 3 7 10 20 and 25 yards.
Gerry the manager doesn't advertise and it's by word of mouth that people hear of it. It's never crowded and most important for the ladies the BR is ultra clean.

Welcome to VGOF, drhabeeb5zapb
How about adding Shooters to our Range Reports discussion group so all the HR members can check it out?.
http://vagunforum.net/range-reports/
Thanks!

It's on Stanart St behind the Virginia Employment Commision on Virginia Beach Blvd.
I stopped by there a couple months back just to check it out, ended up not shooting that day.
I have to give it high marks for being clean and well lit, but I was under-impressed with either buying their ammo or paying a surcharge to use my own as well as being told of the nix on ANY headshots on targets. I understand the reasoning behind it....they only sell total metal jacket ammo which helps 'em stay lead free and head shots may miss and damage the equipment...but I prefer not to deal with those restrictions myself. I'd rather be charged for equipment repair if I(for some foolish reason) decide to goof off and start shooting the clips off the target holders.
Of course opinions vary and you'll have to form your own about the place.

I do believe we are talking about two totally different locations here. While I am sure there is a range in the Virginia Beach area called Shooters, the range that this thread refers to is the range that is being built in Woodbridge (Northern VA.).
I'm glad to hear such glowing reviews of Shooter's down there in VA Beach. I wish I could give the same type of review of The Shooter's Range up here. Only real problem with that is that the darn range is not even open yet. When will that be?? Who knows???

I hope they run the same op as Shooters Paradise. I really liked the fact that you could go on a Saturday morning and take class for CHP, get hands on instruction, shoot, and then buy a gun. I thought it was a good place. I drove all the way down one Saturday morning with Young and saw the place boarded up...

I only have a few memories of wondering in and looking around the store front. I wasn't really into shooting back when they were open. I do remember the day it burned down though. I'm sorry I never had the chance to use the range.
