Ok, like title says this is not mine... It belongs to my co-worker.

He is an A-10 Pilot and their actual unit all had Custom Kimbers done up.... And they are awesome. I took him to the gun club last night so he could shoot it for the first time.

Click pics for Hi-res versions... (I hope it works, I am doing the URL's from memory, since I uploaded them at home this morning.)

First Pic Notes.

1. Engaving of the A-10 Patch (glare doesn't show the detail)
2. Engraving of his unit patch (glare, can't really see all the detail)
3. Grip is engraved to look like his vertical stablizer/rudder on his plane

Image

Second Pic Notes:

1. Engraving of an A-10 with his Call sign (Homer)
2. Serial number is his actual "radio" call sign - (Attack-29)

Image

Third pic is just of the A-10 engraving again.

That's freaking awesome. I love the A-10 - I think it's a beautiful plane.

Yes, they did all the engraving. But notice his "radio" call sign is the actual serial number, so I am no manufacturer, so I don't know the process..... but would that be done during manufacturing or after with a punch? I think the serial number is the coolest part.

And that thing is very accurate. Homer can shoot anyways, but at 10 yards, he had no bullseye left and no flyers. His very first shot out of it, was dead center. And when I say dead center, I mean dead center, lol. But I will add, he wasn't rapid firing or anything. He was aiming to see how accurate it was.

Sounds like they plan on gifting them to the pilots. Good to see someone went to an effort to do something nice for them...these guys do mix it up right where the crap is going on...

Yes, they were gifts from the squadron commander. Hellava lot better than some wooden plaque that is usually given, lol.
