Anyone else own a Ruger P95? What are your impressions of the pistol if you have owned
one or fired one?

I will admit I do not own one but I hear they are very reliable, accurate, and UNDERrated pistols. If I saw a good price I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on it, so to speak.

What's up? Considering one? Have one you're thinking of parting with?

I have one that I really like a great deal, no FTFs even during break in, very accurate, great price 330.00 and it came with two 15 round SS mags, most soft shooting 9mm I've owned. Ambidextrous controls which is great for a lefty like me. Was wondering if others liked theirs as much as I do mine.

I have a P95DC that I bought used and it has never failed. I think that it is awesome. It's light and easy to shoot.

No honest man needs a magazine that will hold more than ten rounds, or a pistol smaller than a canned ham!

Well let's be thankful Bill Ruger no longer makes the policy for the company. Too bad he had to pass on for that policy to change.

Yes, Bill Ruger will live on in infamy for that decision. He did a lot of good things too, but it is hard to remember when your pulling a 9 inch bowie knife out of your back.

I'm glad the company has turned a corner and I can in good conscience purchase their products.

Well Bill got slammed but the whole industry was scrambling at that point...Bill took the point for several big comapanies to include S&W and Winchester who were/are part of SAAMI and all agreed to a 15 round capacity which was changed to 10 as we all know. But I won't make excuses...he said some things I disagree with and now he is gone...the company still makes fine firearms however and his legacy is much more than some things said and done toward the end...my 2 cents.

I have always considered the Ruger line of guns to be the "Buick" of the firearms industry. Meaning that no, it is not a Cadillac but it ain't bad.

I would consider Ruger to be Chevrolet, Colt to be Buick, and Smith & Wesson to be Cadillac myself. But what do I know?

I'm not crazy about the the firearm, seemed huge in my hands however had normal or even light capiticy compared to other guns in same caliber...it was a straight shooter which is always good it was also I believe the "gun of the year" from Guns and Ammo in 05 or 06.

I guess it would serve it's purpose for HD...but you wouldn't want to carry it IMO, it's way to big and bulky, and my preference for HD is a shotgun

PRO's doesn't cost big $$$, shoots well, fuctions well
CONS huge, avg at best capiticy, poor CC option

Jason...are we taliking about the same gun? The P95 is definitely not huge...and its capacity being 15 in the mag and 1 in the chamber is up there with with many other hi-cap pistols. I 'll grant that it isn't the best CC option but not the worst. Most people who have Ruger's would call them "overbuilt"...ok ok ...maybe a little bulky

I would day this gun is a Honda or Toyota...keeps going and is very reliable.

After Glocks and 1911s, everything feels bulky IMHO. Just too thick.

Bought one NIB at a gun show about a year and a half ago for $299. Once I learned how to properly fire a semi-auto (without limp-wristing) I have never had a problem with it. It is more than enough accurate for my skill level. The only thing I have found it did not like to be fed was some Czech ammo. I have never had a problem with American ammo of any kind, either target loads or hollow-point.

It is bulky for CCW but doable. I would and do trust it as a HD or vehicle weapon.

I would suggest they may be the F150 of 9mms.

Whoa, hold on - are you saying that everything feels bulky compared to a Glock? Glock, whose ergonomics are only good compared to a Mac-10, that Glock?

I shot my dad's P95 on many occasions and don't have anything bad to say. I'm just personally not a fan of 9mm.

S&W a Caddy?? Say it ain't so!!

Shot my buddies Ruger P95, and I enjoyed it... I've also, like others, thought of Rugers as not the fanciest but well worth the money...

bought a P95dc used right after I turned 21. Hard to tell how accurate the gun is when I'm still new to handguns (have only shot it once). Seems built pretty tough to me

I've owned two. The first one I gave to my brother for HD. The second one is my hurricane gun = stainless slide and plastic frame. Plenty accurate and never had a problem with function. She ain't the prettiest girl at the party but she can dance! A solid, dependable gun for 3 C-notes.
