So, you're 18 years old and cannot purchase from an FFL, but you can purchase in a private sale... Am I reading you correctly? Presumably, you're a Virginia resident and have a VA Drivers License.

As tinfoilish as that may sound, it is especially odd considering that they just started selling Gen4 G19s. How many can you honestly expect to be on the second hand market in a week?

I really like my Gen 4 Glock 19. It shoots soft and the new grip is great too. I've put about 800 rounds through it so far without any malfunctions. I don't expect to see many used ones for sale any time soon. I'm still tinkering with the trigger though.

Not sticking for the OP, but in here like many other forums, POST COUNT numbers mean nothing.

Sometimes is better to have no post or very little if there is a material contribution instead of 1,000 post count but 999 of them fall into the following cat

My $ 0.02 and again, I agree that looking for a gun that is barely new in the Market as a FTF is not so kosher

Nothing wrong or unkosher with FTF. All but 2 of the guns I own or have sold have been bought or sold in a private sale, face to face.

No there isn't any issue with a FTF. I've done lots of them (bought and sold).

The issue was someone specifically requesting a brand new model which practically is unrealistic to suggest will be on the used market yet. Add in the fact that Glocks are the stuff of gang-banger legend and it sounds odd. It sounds like an attempt to solicit a strawman purchase. AFAIk, it could just be a legit request by someone less familiar with firearms or it could be an attempted strawman purchase or it could be a BATFE trap. The BATFE runs "stings" all the time.

Private sales are the next big thing to ban. With Bloomberg pushing it, the VT families (some of them at least) pushing it, etc. I would not be surprised at all if the BATFE was out in full force setting up stings. They've done it before, they will do it again. If you have any questions about a sale, walk.
