Mosin->Tokarev chamber insert

I previously bought a chamber insert to allow a Mosin Nagant M44 to fire .32ACP. It functioned well but accuracy wasn't impressive. At a distance of 25 yards fired from a sandbag it could keep the rounds on a sheet of notebook paper.

Hoping that an insert which allowed for 7.62x25mm (.30 Tokarev) rounds would allow for more accuracy I went ahead and got one.

Nope.

The insert arrived from Sportsman's Guide covered in some sort of nasty black grunge. The ACP insert had been clean and dry. Using a Q-tip and Hoppe's #9 I cleaned off the Tokarev insert. At the range the insert extracted and ejected fine but half of the time the empty Tok case was stuck fast and had to be prodded out from the front end. The more I shot the harder it became to work the bolt as well.

Accuracy was abysmal. The rounds would impact somewhere on the target stand but the active descriptive word is 'somewhere'.

Final verdict: Don't waste your money. If you've just GOT to do it then go with the ACP insert. I may try it again with the 91/30 and hope the longer barrel makes a difference but I doubt it.
