I'm looking for 8 lbs of Bullseye and some 148gr hollow base .38 wad cutters. I can get the powder all day long on line for $120 shipped...would like to find it local under that price if possible. Having a harder time finding the bullets, so anywhere is fine for those. I'm in Winchester, so any help is appreciated. Not going to use Steele reloaders...long story. Thanks for the help.

Haven't shot thse in a while but my old Dan Wesson loved the Speer hbwc sitting in .357 cases downloaded to .38spcl velocity. In the early 80's our selection of bullets/ammo and boolits was a lot more limited than today so a dual-use for these were to load them backwards for a snubby .38 and fill the cavity with hot glue or hotglue over a #4 buckshot seated in the cavity. These expanded to well over .5" Also had a very quiet 'gallery' load using 000 buckshot in .357 cases over a small amount of powder. It shaved a bit of lead off while seating but they were accurate enough to take a few desert cottontails and quail with minimal damage to the meat.

Dude, Bullseye is at the gun shows all the time now. I regularly see 8lb jugs for $105.

But if you can't find Bullseye (it looks like you're loading .38 Special light target loads), Titegroup is also an excellent powder for that purpose. I can tell you that from experience, since .38 Special is most of what I load.

What part of VA are you in?

Winchester...I know it's at all the gun shows, however I need it ASAP. My wife, out of nowhere wants to start shooting with me and that's what she wants. I thought it would be somewhere close, but looks like I'm out of luck. I'll buy a couple boxes and wait for the next show.

You coming anywhere close to Chantilly anytime soon? I've got some Bullseye I can let you use. Believe me, I've got *plenty* of it.
