NAA Companion Mini Revolver

Hey, I finally bit the bullet and ordered up a NAA Companion mini .22cal black powder revolver! This will be my second black powder revolver the first being my 1851 .44cal Pietta. They also make a cartridge version of the NAA in .22lr and is apparently the same gun because the parts/accessories are interchangeable. Anyways I have not even gotten it yet and have been wondering whether or not I could shoot .22lr rounds out of it if I drilled out the nipple seat in the cylinder or just ordered the .22lr cylinder.The only issue I can think of is if the hammer is different on the cartridge model and if it is I'm wondering if I could just file mine at an angle so the point would be hitting the rim of the bullet.
Does anyone else have one of these mini revolvers, if so what are your thoughts on this gun?
And what are some opinions on my modifications? Although I will probably just leave it alone because it looks like a really nice gun and I would hate to ruin it.
I was also curious what laws there are concerning black powder guns for CCW in VA?

According to what I saw in the hunting regs., a blackpowder gun is considered a firearm in Virginia. Not as bad as Ontario, Canada where I went bow hunting years ago. They consider a bow a firearm there.

That is an interesting question especially when you consider that most BP firearms arent "controlled." You can order most online while scratching yourself in your underwear and have them delivered right to your front door...along with all the accouterments....

Lol, thats exactly why I was wondering and happened to be pretty much how I bought it also. While Federal law does not consider black powder revolvers as modern firearms and does not regulate them, I have found that concerning concealed carry regulations state law does not just mention modern cartridge firearms but all firearms capable of propelling a bullet so i'm almost positive a CCW would be needed.
Even if there were no CCW law's concerning black powder, I would be willing to bet nova in general but especially Fairfax county would still screw you over it.
I guess if I ever want to carry it before I get the permit it would be best left for open carry.
Still would like to hear other people's opinion on this gun or if anyone else owns one?
