By Alex Bridges -- abridges@nvdaily.com
WINCHESTER -- Police are looking for a suspect in a bank robbery that happened just before noon today in the city.
Winchester police were still on the scene at the BB&T bank at Berryville Avenue and Fort Collier Road at 12:20 p.m.
Sgt. Mark Lahman, of the Winchester Police Department, described the suspect as a white male in his 30s, of average build, 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black hat, possibly a fedora, a black trench coat and a fake mustache.
Lahman said the suspect told a teller he had a gun and demanded she give him $7,000.
The teller said the suspect acted "nervous" and "jittery," according to Lahman. The teller gave the suspect some cash and he then left the bank.
It was not yet known whether the suspect fled on foot or entered a vehicle, Lahman said, nor do they know in which direction he went. The teller said the suspect did not display a gun during the incident.
