Virginia Gun Owners Forum - VGOF

I have a job offer and will move to VA near the Alexandria area at the beginning of August. I have been an active shooter and shot High Power in the early 1990's, and lately IPSC. Currently I'm a member of the NRA and USPA, and recently a member of FCSA.
I don't know what IPSC matches near the Washington DC area are like, but judging by the DC gun laws, I would not be surprised if there were noone in the area who shot IPSC.

Anyway, I plan to join VCDL and hope what happened to us in CA doesn't happen in VA or other parts of the US.

You're headed down the right path by joining VCDL. Also, I believe that if you look around a little and ask the right questions here in the forum, you'll find some folks that share your interests. You might also look around here: http://uspsa8.org/

I believe Silver Eagle did have some USPSA matches, but I don't know any more since their management has been quite a bit flakey regarding matches. But both Silver Eagle and Blue Ridge Arsenal have IDPA matches.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I looked at the USPSA's web page for clubs near the Alexandria area and they listed one which is a commercial training outfit. I guess I'll do a more thorough search when I get out there in August.
