Outraged family members and community groups are accusing a Muslim group of trying to rewrite history with its plans to build a 13-story mosque and cultural center just two blocks from Ground Zero, where Islamic extremists flew two planes into the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.

"This is a place which is 600 feet from where almost 3,000 people were torn to pieces by Islamic extremists," said Debra Burlingame, whose brother died in the attack on the Pentagon that day.

"I think that it is incredibly insensitive and audacious really for them to build a mosque, not only on that site, but to do it specifically so that they could be in proximity to where that atrocity happened," said Burlingame, who is co-founder of 9/11 Families for a Safe and Strong America.

The 13-story mosque and cultural center will be built on the site of a four-story building that was a Burlington Coat Factory retail store until 9/11, when part of a plane's landing gear crashed through the roof. The building, which will be razed, currently houses a mosque.

The New York City Mayor's office says "It's private property, and the area is zoned for uses that include this one."
Pamela Gellar, executive director of Stop Islamization of America, blasted the organization behind the plans, Cordoba Initiative, and its leader, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, saying the project is "an insulting flag of conquest of Islamic supremacism."

I've been following this in the news...I would say "simply unbelievable" but its happening right before our very eyes and my guess is they will win...by they I mean the "people" who want to build the mosque...

The Islamic savages always build a mosque at the site(or near) a place of "victory". It makes sense that they would want one near the 9-11 site. This will allow all future muslims to relive their glorious victory over the USA. It is disgusting that these savages have infiltrated our society, but look at the Madrasa's in NOVA. Right outside the District. They are everywhere. They will win, as you say DK. Americans have lost the nerve to protect themselves. Look to the President as an example. He is a spineless coward. Ihave talked with some people who seem to think that American Law will always be the law of this land. I doubt that. We are moving each day, closer to a "global" governance in this country. Some representatives in the United States Congress, actually believe that a form of Sharia law is compatible with the Constitution. We have Muslims in congress. Muslims by their own strict religous codes can not swear allegience to the US Constitution.

Well, after reviewing events--private state, and Federal--of the recent few weeks or months (this was at great length and detail just about all last night), I concluded that today was a good time and not too soon to lay out my serious conclusions and (I expect) hopes. This isn't confiding because there must be at least 10 or 12 of you out there: My family and I have agreed and MDs concluded that if I want to live a reasonably good life for the days remaining it would be appropriate for me to join a hospice care program. The basic eligibility criterion is that one cannot be expectefd to live more than six months after entry. Suits me! Except that I'm always curious about how any number of things will turn out. [Will the Nationals make the playofs?]

All recent events point to a sea-state change in the looming armed conflict between the public and the regime. The words, actions, and postures of the American citizens have taken become more and more defiant and challenging. Obama and his junta have become less and less reluctant to display their hostility toward the nation. The fact that Obama is not a citizen of the United States has become so evident that he no longer devotes much effort to the matter. He has corrupted, compromised, and intimidated just about any public official who might offer concrete evidence (not really useful in light of the fact that none is available) that he should even be allowed on our territory.

Such matters as the more and more aggressive moves on both sides in the Arizona affair--aggravated by Eric Holder's admission that he opposess the law but hasn't read it, and the America's very evident willingness to open fire on legal and illegal, resident and non-resident Hispanics--show that the slow match has been lighted and might instantly touched to the fuse.

How will the armed conflict eventuat? What will be the outcome? Guesse, maybe, but IMO very few American organized armed forces will come down on the side of seating a permanent Communist dictatorship on our blessed and beloved continent. Will a Fairfax County Air National Guard unit napalm and strafe Baltimore?

I think the Obama regime will recognize almost as soon as it starts that it's over and that within a week or two at the most our rat regime will debark for Venezuela and try to learn how to operate their brokendown, neglected oil refineries.

Real Americans will re-establish their tainted institutions and begin repairing those that have been tainted.

GS78 has it right: this will be a shrine to the 19 martyrs of 9/11, clean and simple. It's outrageous and disgusting.

After the U.S. military conquered Iraq in 2003, our troops were rarely allowed to fly the flag anywhere in Iraq to avoid communicating the obvious fact that Iraq had been conquered. But leftists are helping Islam to fly its flag at the Ground Zero site, because they want us to believe that we are conquered.
