Dems spark alarm with call for national ID card

A plan by Senate Democratic leaders to reform the nation’s immigration laws ran into strong opposition from civil liberties defenders before lawmakers even unveiled it Thursday.

Democratic leaders have proposed requiring every worker in the nation to carry a national identification card with biometric information, such as a fingerprint, within the next six years, according to a draft of the measure.

Aren't these the same Democrats that were screaming that it was unconstitutional for Arizona to demand proof of citizenship if the suspects immigration status was unknown?

Be very wary of this National ID crap..they have been trying and preaching this BS on and off for years. Resist it with your very soul if necessary If that thing was to ever get passed .kiss being a free man or woman good bye. Uncle would have your number and your butt in his sights to do any damn thng they wanted .Not to mention you would have given any rights to privacy away to keep a few liberal buttholes happy, With McCains and Ted Kennedys names on it ,it can't be good for us. McCain is a RINO who claims now to be conservavtive (reelectionyear) and Kennedy was one of the biggest liberal wastes of space on the planet.

Yes, this is indeed meant to happen and something like this will come to pass. I read that eventually you'll have to present one of these to work. That means in order to get paid you got to have the ID. Sound familiar. I wonder how many of us will be seeking illegal employment at a future date because of this...just like the illegals do now.

Regarding this national ID to help with the illegal problem - thats crap. Illegals dont fill out paperwork and they work by the day and get paid in cash. You can go down to any Home Depot, U-Haul, or 7-11 and pick up a couple to do yard work all day for $100...no ID or application required.

Exactly .. Legal immigrants are supposed to carry a green card at all times per federal law///I think they should enforce that first without trying to create Huxleys "Brave New World".
