Newbie here straight from So Cal.

We just recently relocated to NOVA from So Cal.

Brought my custom AR-15 with me. Of course that was after I got rid of that stupid CA legal "Bullet-Button" and my 10 round mags.

I was part of Calguns.net when I was in SoCal.

Pretty much the same as this... Only a hell of a lot more discussions on what is legal, EXACTLY, and what is not... Down to nuts & bolts.

Now I just gotta hook up with some of those 30 round clips and a good reload man.

Anyone in this forum proven to have quality 223/556 reloads?

Welcome aboard CK1! I'll bet it's quite a relief to be able to outfit your AR-15 as it was designed to be outfitted :)

How funny (F'd up) is that, that you all don't know what a "Bullet-Button" is?!

OK, so you know when you're 30 round mag is done and you just extend out your index finger and drop your mag with a tap?

Well, in CA when your 10 ROUND mag is done you basically let your rifle hang from your sling, kinda kick your right knee up a bit, reach into your pocket and pull out a bullet and then push the business end thru a small hole in the mag release button to drop the mag. Does that make sense?

I was trying to thoroughly describe the completely retarded process you have to go thru just to drop a mag. Basically, before you can walk out any door with an AR in CA they need to have already installed a solid post in place of the mag release button. That post has a hole in it just big enough for a 223 tip. Thus the name "Bullet Button".

The law was passed after that big shoot-out on the streets of North Hollywood after the BofA robbery years ago. If you've ever seen the video the guys just kept unloading 100-round cylinder mags thru their AK's and then popping in new ones. So the CA legislature saw the video and decided they needed to shut down that capability of massive fire power by passing a law where you could have no more than 10 rounds in a mag and a difficult mechanism to drop the mag.

It makes sense right? Cuz bank robbers and gang bangers maybe criminals but they always respect and follow gun laws to the letter, right?

Welcome to VGOF and you must be the most patient man alive. A bullet button??? Only a 10 round magazine???? Man I wouldn't last a week in that crazy state. I hope you don't get dizzy with all the freedom and gun rights we have here in VA. We just passed the restaurant carry bill this year and next year I hope we can pass the castle doctrine. If enough of us hound our representatives about the castle doctrine and get out to vote for pro gun politicians we can get this done. I am amazed that the people of California would let so many of their constitutional rights be taken away or be so limited. I hope the people of Virginia never let apathy take over to that point.

Yeah it's kind of F'd up there. After living there for my entire 42 years nothing really surprises me.

How about this just for shits & giggles since I referred to that Hollywood bank robbery that caused so much B.S.

During that shootout a few LAPD guys were shot, I don't recall if there were any deaths. But this was back when they didn't carry much in the way of fire power... Anyway, being out-gunned by 2 guys in full kevlar protection and fully automatic AK's, a few LAPD guys rolled down the street to a gun store and "Borrowed the best high-powered rifles you got, and we'll take some of that armor piercing ammo too".

They took their borrowed guns back to the seen and to make a long story short, ended the situation. Actually it was a wounded cop sitting on his ass that plucked the one dude off with a shot to the head with his pistol from quite a distance. The other dude got taken down but not killed.

So here's the F'd up schizel that could only happen in Cali... The 2nd guy was wounded, bad, but not dead. Ambulance showed up and tried to "Administer medical attention". Cops said "No, he's a suspect and this is a secured crime scene." "But he needs attention!" "No, he's a cop killer and HE'S FINE ANYWAY".

LAPD got sued by the mom of the 2nd guy that eventually died. LAPD paid her off prior to going to trial because they knew they would loose.

Why, you ask? "Because that poor young man was no longer an armed bank robber / cop killer with a fully auto AK... Once he hit the ground he then became a common citizen of this country in desperate need of medical attention, which LAPD denied him and thus caused his death."

That's California at it's best. That story (all true) isn't as good as the one about the black kids that bonded together and sued the LAUSD because the high school exit exam was too hard and thus racist because the white & asian kids are better equipped to pass than the black kids, cuz dey smarter. AND THEY ONE!

That one is better but doesn't have guns in it, so I digress.
NOW HERE IN NOVA, I DIGRESS!

I don't know which is worse...the audacity of people donning full kevlar Full auto AK's and taking out thier petty issues on the rest of society OR the law makers that pass laws that THEY actually believe will be followed by someone that is willing to don full kevlar and auto AK's and takeout there problems on the rest of society...

I am just going to take a wyld guess that these two folks were not sterling upstanding, law abiding citizen prior to this occurence...

and the "bullet button"... you have got to be kidding me...
they best keep that "technology" on the west coast, as we are not having any of that...
