Hello. My name is Tomi. I live in Richmond VA and have for a little over a year. I live in an apartment complex where there is alot of drug activity and occasional gunfire. I have owned a weapon for many years and just sent my paperwork in to get my permit to carry a concealed weapon....one for my apartment and one for my car. This is the only way I can feel safe in my own environment.

As you can see, I don't post on this site very often. Thank you all for the welcome. Think I'll check it out more often, since I'm looking for a small firearm to carry. Sold my Browning Buck last year and need something that will fit in my purse. Can't afford to spend alot, but want something dependable. Any suggestions???

I just re-read your intro post and you mention "one for your apartment and one for your car". I would suggest not leaving a weapon in your car...just carry in your purse so it's with you when you leave the apartment and keep one in a strategic location inside the apartment. If the crackheads get wind that there's a gun being stored in your car, you'll be calling the insurance company to get windows and a gun replaced.
Just my humble opinion...

Money= nice reliable gun
No money = a highpoint..... I mean a not so reliable gun
No gun = no money= no gun at all= bad
That said I will recommend a used glock 19 as they can be found for less than 400 and can hold 15 rounds of 9mm which is a very good round for self defense and they won't break the bank. Btw.... Glock = reliability and dependability. Nothing shiny but you will never have to worry about it failing you. And they are super simple to take apart and clean. Most military and police forces trust and use glock. These include the FBI and the US Special Forces. Heck Tommy Lee Jones recommends one while he is hunting down Wesley Snipes in US Marshalls.
