Hey everyone,

I was wondering about the best way to carry a concealed gun being a girl and all. I don't usually wear loose clothing so I'm worried about never being able to effectively hide my gun. Thanks for any responses. I'd like to hear from guys and girls!

I would consider ,,Small Of the back Holster, Middle of the back (Inside the waist band) Holster or a shoulder harness like the Galco Miami Classic,,

They make purses that have compartments specifically for "concealed" guns. I've had to resort to using a fanny pack since it's started to warm up, so that's another option. Ankle holster if you wear long pants and the gun is small enough. Of course you could always just OC.

Another option to look into is a Super-Tuck IWB holster from CrossBreed. I use one to CC a Kimber Pro Carry 1911. It really is as comfortable as they say, and it doesn't move around at all.
A smaller frame semi-auto would probably work even better than my 1911.

oooooh. I knew someone would bring up OC! So I could OC and then just slip it into my purse if concealing is a must, right.

Thanks for posting that link! That is nifty little holster. It's funny you posted it because I was just looking at the Ruger LCP. Thanks again!

My wife is small 5'4'' and about 115 lbs and she has a problem carrying too. She has one of those purses and likes it.

She also uses a fanny pack when the purse is not practicle. I use one now and then myself, when ever I see a guy with a fanny pack the first thing I think is, he is carrying. I don't like to use one because it seems so obvious, to me anyway.

You could do that as long as you have a concealed permit. I'm not sure what circumstances would be a "must" for concealed carry though. In theory you should be able to OC in more places than you can CC.

Really?!! I was thinking that since some places may or may not have a policy, as long as I'm effectively CCing, they won't know. But you're probably right, now that I think about it. I was just exploring the opencarry.org site and a lot of people where I live are OCing with no issues in places like Target, 7-11, etc. Thanks for the reply! I just completed my paperwork and probably won't OC until I have the CC permit. I'm going to need some time to work up the nerve!

I read about the fanny pack but I've always hated those things. The purse idea is attractive so I might consider doing that. Now that summer is rolling around, I think I'll start trying to work up the courage to OC. My biggest issue here is the gun protruding through my clothes. I don't want to have to change the way I dress just to accommodate a gun that I could just open carry anyway. Thanks for replying!

I always open carry on my own land and around the area, but when I have to go to town I prefer concealed, that way every one just see's this old guy walking around and I don't draw any attention.

If they have a policy it usually cover firearms regardless of how you carry, the main difference will be if their "no firearms" policy is in some obscure manual that a customer would never read instead of being posted at the door where a customer would enter. I that case you'd get away with CC and not with OC.

I like to suggest the Desantis Stealth Pro. Bought it for my PM9 and works IWB, OWB and cross draw. All depending the mood I'm in. I like it so much I also bought a larger one for my DXm and they also offer a retention strap addon. http://www.desantisholster.com/storefro ... tg_id=1339

I think that's exactly how my husband feels about it. We touched on the open carry discussion yesterday and he's not too keen on giving it a try.

Thanks for the link! I checked it out and it looks like it would be pretty comfortable. I liked the pouch it has on the side for the magazine.

Try IWB in the small of the back. I have found that as long as my shirt is not tucked in most people never know I am carrying. Well except for those who know but they are generally friendly. This is the reason I bought my Ruger LCP
