Virginia Gun Owners Forum - VGOF

Hello,

I am based in Spotsylvania County near Fredericksburg and considering to join a practical shooting club. I's prefer IDPA but there is a USPSA club very close by (Fredericksburg Practical Shooters). Is/aas Ayone on this board a member of this club and wish to share thoughts on membership, activities, organization, etc. Any IDPA clubs near by? The closest ones I can find are all Richmond area or in Western Fairfax.

The Range in Stafford does IDPA 2nd & 4th Wednesday evenings, starting in April. I've never been but intend to this Spring.

Thanks. I knew they had a bullseye league but not IDPA. Is that new for them?

I think they've done it for quite some time. Paul told me recently that a lot of the evenings got cancelled due to lack of participation. We should all try to rectify that.

I think I'm remembering the situation: they shoot "IDPA" type matches but are not a recognized club of IDPA. At least they are not listed on the IDPA website as a club. That''s why I don't remember them as an IDPA club.

Ah, thanks for that point of order. I guess they're still good for practice. Will have to see this spring.

I've shot before at the Range. Its a little closer to me than going to Blue Ridge arsenal. I've only been there to shoot twice. I did sign up once to shoot IDPA with him last summer. I gave Paul all the info he needed to let me know if it was going to be canceled or not. I got my things together and fought evening rush hour and got there only to find that there was no one there at all. I was the only fool sitting in that parking lot.

Kind of pissed me off to be honest. I'd give it another chance though if I thought we could get a group together from here to go.

Maybe we can start a thread in the Fredericksburg section for people that are interested in attending. Tell me what you think of that.
