How long did it take to get your CHP?

I know Virginia is a "shall issue" state and has to issue within 45 days, I was wondering how long it took to get your permit?
I'm going on 21 days in Virginia Beach and I anxiously open my mailbox everyday just to be disappointed
Cheer!

About 14 days in rural VA. That was for myself, my wife, and a neighbor.
My theory is that the timing has a lot to do with the police writing out the report for the Judge who signs the permit. In some cases it could be a Detective doing the report who has more pressing issues that week or month.
Spend the waiting period dry-firing from your CC holster(s).

It will come.

Several years ago when I got my first CCW I hand carried the paperwork to the Sheriff, got the fingerprints, background check and sat down for a face to face in person with the Sheriff. Within a week I had an appointment to go before the Circuit Court Judge, he asked me a few questions then approved the application and gave me a temporary court order that made me legal until the regular came in the mail. Within another week I had it in hand. This was about 20 years ago when Virginia was still a "May Issue" state. I live in Lunenburg County, so that and a background in law enforcement helped I am sure.

Took me 23 years to get mine... but that was my fault - once I jumped thru the hoops it was less than 30 days.

Fairfax County; my first one was easily within the allowed time. Then I allowet it to expire at the end of its term (5 years?) so I had to file for a new one instead of renew. That one also was w/in specs.
Little advice, Snazuolu. I remember a stupid joke about and old bull and a young one having a chat up on a hill on the pasture. A flock of really nice-looking heifers wandered into view. The young bull asked, "Why don't we run down the hill and *bleep* one of them cute heifers?" The old bull didn't even turn his head. "Why don't we WALK down the hill and *bleep* them all?"
I think maybe you ought to continue checking your mailbox every day, but not be disappointed until it doesn't show up by the end of 45 (business) days. I'm just sayin'.

Yeah and the really bad part about almost all urban areas is they are controlled by liberals...

Does the law say business days or just days? 45 business days could mean almost next year!
