Restaraunt Ban... Delegate May...

Post by Dreamerx4 »

I have spoken a couple times with Delegate May's assistant, Nancy, concerning his vote against the Restaurant Ban Repeal.

She gave his reasons as he is concerned about the undue liability on Bar owners specifically. I inquired about the fact drunk drivers kill more folks than guns, she said Va has some of the strictest laws on the books for Drunk Driving. I asked why he felt it was too much to ask the Bar owner to put up a sign saying "No Guns", she had no answer.

I inquired why he has a problem with law abiding citizens carrying for their own protection, but has no problem with Virginia Commonwealth Attorneys, who have not had training, who do not have a permit, and who are allowed to drink alcohol? No answer.

I asked if he understood the law still clearly stated that consuming alcohol was illegal for CCW holders. No answer.

She stated I had a right to carry in the open, I responded, I do not desire number one to be a target, nor do I wish to infringe on others who may be afraid of guns for one reason or another, and upset their meal. I don't have a problem with open carry, I just do not do it, nor should I have to.

I mentioned I wear a seat belt because it is a safety issue, not because I am hoping to have an accident.

I have fire extinguishers in my home and vehicles, not because I have a deep down desire to have a fire, but because it is prudent.

I carry a firearm, because I have a God given right to protect myself and my loved ones. Not granted by the government by the way! The founding fathers realized for Life Liberty and "property" originally, that firearms and their use was needed, and that is why they stated the right would not be "infringed" as opposed to "granted"

She seemed to at least warm up after our conversation. I mentioned I would welcome speaking directly with Delegate May, she responded, he is very busy.

I am fed up with RINO's, and I am ready to clean house. Time for new blood, May needs to be voted out!

Here is his contact info if you are in the 33rd district, Loudon and Clarke counties. Call and have your voice heard. Thank you, Doug

Doug,
I am in Loudoun, and will be over in berryville tonight... :)

but regardingf the OP, He is my district...and i have met him on a couple of occasions...nice enough fellow, but you make an excellent point regarding the commonwealth attorney's...

So tired of the "OK for me, but not for you" mentality...and how can the libility be on the bar owner for my actions...? and if he does want firearms, post it, and i will go elsewhere...
Be particular, and be vigilant, as the enemy will only attack on two occasions:
When you're ready or when you're not ready.

Also never forget, that everyone who shows up, is not necessarily there to help.

I'm also in Loudoun, but in the 32nd House district. I'm so happy we elected a
good Republican (Del. Greason). Although he isn't 100% Pro-Gun. But its better than
then Democrat we last had.
