Pearce plus mag extensions

This came to me from a friend who is a federal law enforcement agent/instructor.

I want to make you aware of an incident that happened to one of us.
Bill Lance, one of our group, was interested in shooting a friends, G36, that is Glock's slim line 7+1 round, .45 ACP pistol. The friend had installed an aftermarket Pierce Plus One extended floor plate to add and additional 1 round capacity. The friend had mentioned to Bill that the rounds were "sticking" in the magazine.
Bill took the gun home to shoot it the next day.
That evening, Bill wanted to investigate what the sticking problem was with the magazine. Putting the G36 aside, he installed 7 rounds in the magazine. Once full, the rounds were "rattling around" loose within the magazine. In fact, when held upside down, 6 of the rounds fell out, leaving the 7th round in the magazine. Apparently, the follower got caught somehow within the Pierce Grip Plus one grip extender. Further investigation by Bill showed that the last round was on top of the follower, nose down/primer up. While holding the magazine in his right hand, the follower suddenly came loose and pushed the remaining round up the magazine tube, where the primer impacted some part of the magazine with enough force to cause the primer to discharge, causing the bullet to "fire". Of course, being unsupported, the cartridge fragmented, destroying the magazine and injuring Bill's hand.
Bill suffered some hand damage, but is all right.
Bill also asked that I forward this to all of John's and my students to make them aware that it is best to NOT ADD TRINKETS AND DOO DADS TO YOUR FIGHTING HANDGUN!
If you want more rounds, buy a different gun!
