JUPITER, Fla. (AP) - A man accidentally shot himself in the leg shortly after leaving a Jupiter gun store. Police said the unidentified man went to Chuck's Guns and Ammo Monday afternoon, looking for batteries for the laser sight on a small handgun. When the man was back in his car, the gun accidentally fired, hitting him in the leg.
The man was taken to a West Palm Beach hospital for treatment.
Why does the press never print when someone with as gun does something good.
No that does require a answer.

That's what we're here for. We need more "good" stories being posted. Not saying not to post the baad - because there is definitely some learning to be gleaned from the bad stories. I do try to make it a point to get the good stuff out there too. And as we become a larger group, maybe our "good" stories can carry a little more weight if we push them around a bit (facebook, twitter, newfeeds, press releases, etc)

I think the more worrisome part of this article is the choice of words, "the gun accidentally fired."
I think all would agree that it's a LOT more likely that it was user error--i.e. "the man accidentally shot himself"--and to blame the owner's error on the gun can only serve to strengthen antis' arguments about how "unsafe" guns are by nature.
Blame the user, one man is an idiot. Blame the gun, all guns are "unsafe."

EXACTLY! and thats why they write the story that way, in fact if the reporter had brought in a story that said ; Man shoots himself while playing with his new lasere sight, the editor would have changed it to "accidental discharge injures man"
The same thing happens with anything the left wants to demonize, SUV's anyone?

"SUV jumps on top of innocent driver for no reason"
An unprovoked SUV jumped on a helpless man today when the man was on his way to get some coffee at McDonalds. The SUV must have been very angry, because it rolled over 6 times before stopping on top of the poor innocent man. When reporters asked the Virginia State Police why they thought the SUV had acted in this manner, the VSP spokesman said "Ma'am, you just never know how one of these crazed SUV's is gonna act."
After digging a little deeper into this story, we found that there are crazy SUV's all over the country which have mangled and maimed thousands of helpless victims. Timmy Jones from Scottsdale, AZ told us how he was in a drunken stupor one night coming home from a bar in his SUV. He said that normally, the 26 mile ride on the interstate is no problem, but for some reason, his SUV decided to spin out of control, hit the guard rail and flip over on it's roof. Now, keep in mind that Timmy was just minding his own business, trying to get home late at night - it had been a long day. What had he done to deserve this treatment by his SUV? Absolutely nothing.
SUV's are dangerous man-killers. Stay as far away from them as you can, because you never know when one of them will bite the hand the fuels it!

Me thinks that when you have 9,999 dimes and 1 penny the penny sort of stands out.

As long as they don't start making rifles. They might end up having to recall them because of faulty muzzle brakes. *groan*

Yup and now they are going to go after Honda. I honestly cannot believe this business with Toyota. They've made very reliable automobiles for years and years and never a problem. Excellent quality, price, mileage, service, etc. One issue and the press and congress are all over them. The public I think has turned against them too, mainly IMO due to the heavy press coverage.
Big 3 have had numerous recalls and quality issues for years and the government bails them out, pats their back and kisses them on top of their defective heads...

Once again somebody didn't follow the 3 rules of safety when handling a firearm.
1. Make sure gun is unloaded
2. Keep finger off the trigger
3. Point firearm in a safe direction
He got cocky while playing with his laser sights.

My guess is, he didn't unload the gun and commenced to try to change the batteries in the laser, I would even venture the guess it was probably a Crimson Trace grip type laser, rather than one mounted on a rail. It just goes to show "Some people are stupid and others have to prove it."

Well the moron obviously had to load the gun on the way out the door or as soon as he got in the car. Sounds like he then promptly shot himself.

Toyota has outsold all other maunfacturers for a very long time. They have made a better vehicle, cheaper and more economical. I really can't remember the last time a recall involved them. Now, let me get this out of the way, I buy homegrown products, always have , always will{I hope}. I really believe that this whole fiasco is media driven and government propaganda. If Obama Motors wasn't the competition we would be hearing stories about the reliability of Toyota, both as a motor vehicle and a company. The only funny thing is that most of liberals I know, and I do know some, drive toyota camry and the prius. I bet ed begley junior is just besides himself......I wonder why we don't see more public service announcements starring hollywood knuckelheads about why we need to keep supporting Toyota and saving the environment?....oh well maybe they figure we got obama, he will save the environment...

Indeed. Funny that these liberals drive Prius and other "green" Toyota products. I hope they all have the lemons.

Faulty muzzle brakes. I like it, I will have to check my Browning A-Bolt and make sure it don't have a faulty muzzle brake. LOL
