concealed carry city property

Can you carry a concealed weapon onto city of chesapeake property if you have a CHP.I swear I can't find the statuate anywhere.My grandsons all play ball both in the rec. centers and out and I don't know if I can even leave the weapon locked up in my vehicle while I watch them play ball much less carry it .

IANAL, but If I understand correctly, VA state preemption laws govern the city's ability to restrict firearms. City property cannot be restricted due to preemption (other than the obvious venues which are identified by Virginia Statute such as court houses, school property, etc).
So, assuming that the Rec. Center is actually owned by the city (not privately owned and leased to the city) then I believe you can carry there.
Hopefully someone will jump in here and either back me up or tell me where I'm wrong.

Yes (assuming that the place is not school property).
15.2-915 is the statute you seek. If you are interested, we do a class that explains all of the laws.
