Breaking: Today the Virginia State Senate passed Senate Bill 283 (SB283) by a vote of 23-17.

Provides that a resident of the Commonwealth shall not be required to obtain or maintain a policy of individual insurance coverage. This applies regardless of whether the person has or is eligible for health insurance coverage under any policy or program provided by or through his employer or a plan sponsored by the Commonwealth or the federal government. The measure also states that no provision of Title 38.2 renders a resident liable for any penalty, assessment, fee, or fine as a result his failure to procure or obtain health insurance coverage.

Also passed today is SB310 and SB417, both of which provide ôthat a resident of the Commonwealth shall not be required to obtain or maintain a policy of individual insurance coverage.ö

Pending in the Virginia house is House Bill 10, which is a proposal for a similar law.

I guess they noticed just how bad the job market is right now and decided they didn't want to join the unemployed

Good for them and us. IMVAMSHO (in my very and most seriously honest opinion) this is almost as important as our gun rights. That little boys picture nails it. Up yours DC. The line is drawn here. No more.

This will prevent Obamacare from being shoved down our throats, but it won't prevent the inevitable federal taxes that are sure to be imposed on those that don't have government mandated healthcare.

It's a step in the right direction for sure, The whole health care debacle needs to die and be started from the ground up again. And if it stinks again we throw that one out and start again.. In the meantime VA citizens will have the right to tell Reid.. Pelosi and the other comic book characters ,,NO . We have had enough!!
