Wish you were there!

As VCDL's newsletter states today, yesterday was "A good night for gun owners! The Militia, Police, and Public Safety subcommittee met tonight and vetted and then voted on a bunch of gun bills."
I wish more of us, and more ladies were there. I was the only female speaking up for the gun rights. Dont think the antis expected an immigrant female to speak for self-defense. I did not have anything in writing, I did not even know the meeting was on that evening. I felt good doing what I did, saying what I said, and Mr. Van Cleave did not have anything bad to say about my comments, so I guess I did good. It felt GOOD - for a first time addressing elected gov't body EVER in my entire life. I love my U.S. citizenship! They tell me I made in on the local news, and WashPost reporter might try to twist and spin my comments, we'll see. I was prepared for that when I "put my name on the line".
Please be more active, you have to stand up and be seen by your elected
representatives. I refused to take a seat all evening even though there were seats in the room. I wanted them to literally see me "standing tall" - with all my 5'3" .
We stopped the "loophole" train dead in tracks - it did not even get "second motion" so it was not even needed to be voted on. Richmond Police Chief was so weak and had no hard statistics to back him up - I felt bad for him, but was laughing openly. The rest of the antis were lying and misrepresenting facts, and pushing the "feelings" botton all evening.
The other bill I spoke about was "HB 108, Cole, requires localities to auction off guns purchased in a"buy-up". STRONGLY SUPPORT: Passed 4 to 1, with a pro-gun amendment!" A good business-minded and profit-minded gov't should not waste money by destroying what has a life-time value, - esp after they already spent money to do "buy back"!
