I guess you could take your piece to three or four pawn shops and see how it pans out?

The Virginia Historical Society maintains a list of appraisers for all types of property of historical significance. Should you be looking for an appraiser of a historical piece, they may be a good resource. Dick Chandler at Chesterfield Armament appraises military weapons, especially full auto pieces.
