I'm looking for a holster for my wife. She'll be carrying a small frame revolver or possibly a small auto like a 380 LCP or TCP. Or maybe even something larger.

She wears a lot of stretch pants so pocket or belt carry is out of the question. I don't think purse carrying is a good idea and I don't think and ankle holster will work for her.

As near as I can figure, that leaves her with a couple options. A waistband type holster , a crotch type holster (thunderwear or smartcarry), or an under the chest holster (AKA boob draw).

I haven't seen many under the chest holsters but I would imagine with the proper equipment you could fit a compact pistol on one side and a couple mags on the other and maybe even have room for a cell phone, a can of mace, and some lunch snacks. Seriously, what good options are available?

Can a woman realistically wear a smartcarry type holster without looking like she's smuggling an Italian sausage in her pants? Are there any other options or products I should look at?

Any advice would be appreciated. I really don't want to add another holster to the unused drawer.

I kinda like the purse carry - there are some special purses out there specifically designed with a built-in concealed carry pocket. Check the next gun show and see if you can find one that you and your wife can settle upon.

A shoulder holster could work - one with clips instead of loops for a belt. I've seen them on-line, but never handled one in person. A shoulder holster like that is one of those things on my shopping list, in fact.

Personally, I carry an S&W Model 60LS in an OWB holster. I used to be a stretch pants gal, myself, but when I decided to carry, I have slowly upgraded my wardrobe to include slacks with belt loops, and a decent belt. That is yet another option.

If she is busty, I have seen some holsters that clip in the cleavage that would be perfect for a P3AT or such. I carry a bag myself and love it. I replaced the shoulder strap with a heaver one as I carry a lot of crap plus the gun and a spare mag.





My wife made the bead pull for faster access time. The zipper has a built-in lock that will only slow someone down, not stop them.

Thanks for the replies. I'll do some looking at shoulder holster setups. That may be a good option for her.

Certainly! I'm always looking for ways to interest my wife a little more in firearms, and came across the site a while back while looking for info. It does have some good stuff. Pass it on!
