I don't know anything about the situation other than stumbling across this article.

One nut-job pedophile that happens to belong Oath Keepers (therefore, all OK members are nut-jobs and pedophiles)

Just more of the same looney far-left drivel that rears it's ugly head to capitalize on a tragedy (any tragedy will do).

Also, he is still innocent until proven guilty.

If the guy is guilty, then absolutely, he should pay the price. Child rape is as despicable an act as there is. I will not defend the guy or is alleged actions in any way. This guy has made his own bed with his statements and videos.

One thing about the report that stands out to me that requires a response.

Every movement attracts its freaks. But the Patriot movement attracts an inordinate number of them -- and particularly people with a pedophilia problem. (I can list at least 10 different prominent figures in the Northwest's Patriot movement in the 1990s who had a history of being charged with abusing and abducting children.) Evidently, being a pedophile leads to resentment of the government -- probably for its desire to lock you away.

That is a filthy and ridiculous statement. There are crazy pedophiles in every walk of life. To make an attempt to indicate that Tea-party goers are any more predisposed to such behavior is just nonsense.

Well that settles it. I received my Oath Keepers pack in the mail a few days ago. The bumper sticker goes on my truck...and yes, if this guy is guilty then throw him under the jail. (please put those commenters in there too)

this is the closest thing to a news site I could find this on, I still am not convinced about the rape charge as one would think that would be the first thing you would read, especially about a returning vet in our current political atmosphere....I have seen LE and especially the feds use tactics like this to "enter and search" whenthey are really looking for something else, in this case they knew he was involved in militia recruiting and had a "distaste" for the government.....they are painting him to be a tim McVeigh type.......I don't know, I'm with the rest of you, in the event this guy is actually guilty of raping a 7 yr old, I think someone should break off a shiv in his brain stem. Still its not a very popular story, for something that happened last week. I would think the gun grabbers would make sure this would get some play on cnn, msnbc... somewhere....I'm suspicious of the rape charge, looks like they went in for the guns, and his associations. Even in the story they reference "man arrested on federal gun charges"....

Looks like he was first arrested on the child rape and sodomy charges, and then, three days later after they found the stolen Army grenade launcher the local sheriff contacted ATF. At least that's the story according to the local newspaper.

Man!!! They are indeed neo-nazi. No wonder there is some confusion. I wonder which come first and if the Oath Keeper founders know about this other organization?

The "Real Oath Keepers" came later. It is a direct attempt to siphon off possible members from the original Oath Keepers. The guy who founded the "Real Oath Keepers" also runs a blog called Subverted Nation. In one of his posts there, he details what the "Real Oath Keepers" is all about.

Thanks, Kurt. Good info. Had I been the founder I would have maybe picked a different name but at least he's trying to put some distance from the "others."

either. In our early stages of forming, he posted videos and blogs in
support of our efforts and did present the Oath at a Tea Party event in

summer.

These charges are very disturbing and in no way would anyone in a
leadership
position remain as one would they have been involved in such

There are Pedephiles in all walks of life. I have seen several in Law Enforcement that made me sick as they all do. Don't condem any organization for some of it's membership unless they condone their actions.
