Virginia Gun Owners Forum - VGOF

I am going to be applying for my permit in Alexandria...anything I should be aware of or any stories where I can learn from someone elses mistakes. I know the area I live is somewhat gun unfriendly.

I was dreading the experience, but it turned out really great. All city employees I dealt with were very helpful, and pleasant. Fingerprinting is only available from 9-11 am weekdays, at the police station.

I agree; I applied for mine last July. A surprisingly good experience. the paperwork-lady (Megan Smith) at the Town Hall was especially nice and helpful. Took a while to get it (the full allowable 45 d) but it came. No issues.
