I don't qualify but I'm surprised this seems like such a well kept secret.
Recently a new gun store owner told me about a special discount for (former) military and LEOs on Glock guns. The price was just under $400 vs the $5xx I'm use to seeing.
The former military people I've talked to have never heard of the program.
Do other companies offer similar discounts?

Re: Military and LEO discount on Glocks
I've heard of discounts for LEO's on just about anything in a gun store, but it's usually around 5 - 10%. Just an incentive to keep them coming back and hopefully tell their coworkers.
Re: Military and LEO discount on Glocks
Actually the police supply websites offer discounts for current LEO, and I've heard that the glock prices for former and current are about $100 lower than civilian.
Got a neighbor who is a cop, says he can order one for me but never taken him up on it.

Re: Military and LEO discount on Glocks
I can't remember when I learned of the discount from Glock, but it's been as long as I can remember I've been into guns. I know Sig gives $100 off a few select pistols for LEO and military as well.
If I liked Glocks better, I'd buy one with factory night sites for the price that civis pay for a regular. *shrug* Oh, well.

Re: Military and LEO discount on Glocks
I first heard of the Glock "Homeland Security Program" discounts three or four years ago. (Of course that was after I'd already bought mine.) I'm pretty sure there is some info about the program in the 2009 Glock catalog, but I can't find mine right now.
I think that Town Police Supply of Richmond (804.745.6433, 3541 Courthouse Road) may be the only dealer in VA that can offer the discounts.
There are a couple of posting on another forum that say the following people qualify for the discount: Police Officers (active and retired), Sheriffs and Deputys (active and retired), Military Personnel (active, reserve, retired, and National Guard), Firemen, EMTs, TSA Personnel, some Private Security Officers, Federal Agents (active and retired), Distric Attorneys, Judges, and Federal Flight Deck Officers. Certified Glock Armorers also qualify for the discount.
The same forum also has a posting that says the discounted prices vary depending on the gun. Guns that are $398.20 are the 17, 19, 22, 23, 26, 27, 31, 32, 33. Guns that are $464.20 are the 20, 21, 29, 30, 36 (including SF models). Guns that are $480.70 are the 34, 35. Guns that are $414.70 are the 37, 38, 39.
I believe you must present your current ID card to prove you're eligible and also sign a form stating you will not resell your purchase, but I don't know how Glock would find out if you did. Don't know if you are limited in the number of pistols that you can purchase.
