I'm in the process of upgrading to a new server, and in the process, I will be upgrading the forum software and database. I have another phpBB board at gofishingforum.net that I was able to upgrade pretty quickly, and it's now back up and operational on the new server. VGOF has a few more hand-built modifications that may be difficult to re-create on the other side of the upgrade.

One of the biggest items that I hope to save is the calendar functionality. I also really like the badges that show organizational memberships (NRA, GOA, VCDL, etc).

At first, after the upgrade, the board will be completely "vanilla" with none of these special characteristics.

I believe we're back up and running, with some updates required, but at least online. Smilies don't work, calendar doesn't work...lots of stuff doesn't work.

I've got avatars and ranks and smilies working again. Also got a new logo at the top and installed a dark theme. TO set the dark theme, you have to go to your User Control Panel (UCP) and Board Preferences.

I have several other sites to migrate, so I think we're good here for now, and I'm going to move to another for now. Will be back!!

I guess we won't be able to go to FB to read items? Sad, I use FB because there are so many sites that I follow that is just more convenient than logging into each one separately.

I hear you. There will still be some comms on Facebook, but I'm trying to tread lightly there knowing that I can say pretty much whatever I want here (within reason, of course)

I understand. My nephew PO1 Josh Hoover CT is undergoing CPO training out in Phoenix now with the USNR. But it must be a bit odd with the pandemic they must work around. He should make it by the end of January. Thanks - David Hastie
