Colt has, apparently, reworked the Python; modernized internal components to eliminate bugs of the original.

$1500 is a bit on the pricey side, though.

:pistol: The Colt is quite pretty but , I would rather purchase a Ruger , Smith or even a Taurus in the $500 /$600 range and buy $800 of ammo !

If I'm going to have a Colt Python, I want an original. Wonder if they tapered the barrel to give it the same accuracy the old ones had?

so Dan Wesson/CZ tried this a few years ago with the reintroduction of the 715. IMO a decade late. Seems mid size 357 revolvers were not that popular in 2015. And even though they haven't done a production run in a while, there are still plenty to choose from on GB. Including the blem's that came out before the main release as they were getting the tooling/machining setup right.

Small CCW sized revolvers are doing OK not great, but ok and it seems some of large hunting ones are selling slowly says my friend in the gun biz. But come to think of it... it has been a long time since I saw something larger than a 44 mag in anything but the consignment case. I sold off my .460's and 500's and don't miss them much.

So given $1500 bucks do I buy, a colt, or a glock 19 and 6,000 rounds of ammo. Yep I know what I'm buying... a STI Staccato. Ha didn't see that coming did ya :hysterical:

The article is in agreement with my opinion of Colt's newer 1911s. Overpriced and unimpressive.

I've got a thing for revolvers in .357. But, not enough of a thing to drop $1500 on one!

I USED to want a Python, but I got over it. Though, if they reduce the MSRP by about 2/3, it might respark my interest, lol.
