An excerpt from an email I got from the Virginia COS coordinator:

By midnight on February 13, legislation in each chamber (Senate and House of Delegates) must be completed. Then “crossover” occurs, and legislation is taken up by the opposite chamber. •What’s needed immediately is voters contacting their legislators (see instructions below) to ask for support moving HJ49 and SJ31 to a YES vote on the floor. This will only take you a few minutes, but the impact of constituents contacting elected state representatives is enormous.

I am in 100% support of this project and would encourage everyone who isn't to seriously consider it. It's the only chance we have.

I don't know. Very important decisions can be taken then. Who will be the representatives? Can we trust them? How we can know they will not be blackmailed?
2nd amendment can be gone in a day, with people making wrong votes.
We need to clean the swamp first.

Roberts reached his decision based on the way it was presented to him - as a tax. The Constitution gives Congress the authority to "lay and collect taxes." Otherwise I think Roberts would not have been able to vote in favor. Blame does not lie with Roberts. Whoever came up with the idea to present it as a tax is a genius. He/she knew Roberts would at least have to consider it a valid argument.

So, how long are you going to sit back and wring your hands over whether the CoS is a good idea or not? We have, at this point, nothing to lose. All that you fear is coming true before your very eyes. Fighting it now is, in my view, a better option than waiting. The generations that have come after me (I'm 60) have no concept of limited government. Un-limited government is all they have ever known. The idiots on Capital Hill have just added 3 trillion to the debt. Anyone looked at the Debt Clock in a while? I just did and we're over 20.6 trillion in debt - http://www.usdebtclock.org/.

What if, what if, what if . . . someone has to do something. It isn't your shadow that will hurt you, it's the man behind the curtain. The black-helicopter-tin-foil-hat-crowd isn't going to help you. All those folks do is spread fear. Sound familiar? If you aren't going to be part of this then just make sure you stay out of the way.

I used to be a supporter of the convention, but after seeing very good men getting out of the game after trying to clean up the swamp (Chaffetz, Gowdy) I have started to have doubts.

Kelu, the swamp will never be cleaned up unless we get term limits and repeal the 17th amendment, and this is just for starters. George Soros and Hillary are already working against the CoS because they know what this will likely mean for their agenda. I have my concerns and they are likely very similar to yours. I understand that our efforts could be submarined by the progressives, but I have to believe that we will be able to get some control over the federal government in a peaceable manner.

The only other option is an armed revolution and I don't believe there are enough good people in this country who would put down what they are doing to make it matter. I don't have a high degree of faith that most of my fellow citizens would take up arms against a tyrannical government. There would end up being pockets of people like you and I and it wouldn't take a lot of effort to wipe us out.

I am willing to try all peaceful means of regaining control before we resort to force. This is why I support CoS.

It doesn't matter what the Governor thinks, it's the State Legislators that make the decisions. The legislative body of 40 states are staunchly pro-gun... with more and more states deregulating and going to Constitutional Conceal Carry.

I think the odds are strongly in our favor, that if any change was made to the Constitution with regards to the Second Amendment, it would be strengthened, not repealed.

I'm seeing plenty republican senators calling for a ban on AR-15... Add them to 100% of dems, and you are well over majority.

I am not a fan of convention of states. With people being stupider than they were back in the 1700's, I don't trust them.

Not only stupider, but cowards too. Easy to bribe and blackmail. How many today in politics are willing to fight and maybe die for their cause?

Is it that they're cowards? Or, are they operating on immediate self interest, and thus, easily manipulated?
