Interesting conversation.

So I have all my firearms information written down in a log, and I just finished doing "Right/Left" photos of all of them.

Friend of mine FAAAHHH-reaks out!

"DUDE! YOU JUST SELF REGISTERED YOUR GUNS IF SOMEONE FINDS ALL THAT!!!"

Um. Dunno about you, but I'm insured, and that's a nice thing if someone gets into gun safes. Just sayin'...

Play out your worst case scenarios, but a fire, or theft will happen LONG before confiscation.

confiscation is already starting to happen in Hawaii.

Sent letters to all the medical MJ users who have active firearms registrations saying that the two are incompatible. Either turn in the guns, or turn in your weed.

After some outcry the PD stopped, but make no mistake... THEY TRIED IT!

Same here. I confirmed that my homeowner's insurance does cover my firearm if they are destroyed or stolen. I have pics and receipts for everything.

It's a long process, but once you're done? The slide show is AWESOME!

I keep a ledger with pic's of my collection. One issue I have is I have 2 houses with 2 home owners policies , from 2 different Insurance Co's. It takes a lot of time to organize and keep all the information current. I use to do quite a bit of trading and selling but , not much anymore. Now when I purchase a firearm I add all info with several pic's . I also , at least yearly I send both Ins. Co's an up to date copy of my ledger.

This is a good idea, but where do you store it?

Do you put this online? Is that safe?

TWO thumb drives, one in my pocket safe in my lockable desk, and the other at work in my personal safe there. (Legal docs, and such)
