Pretty sure you are going to be looking at a bit of a drive for 1,000 yards. And the 1,000 yard ranges I am aware of our members only. Like you have to active duty or retired to use the one on Quantico. Then Peacemaker in West Virginia or the 1,000 at Virginia International Raceway.

So, you're looking at $400-$500 a year and you need to qual at 100, 300, 500 and then 100 yards at a time till you get to 1,000. So, talking about a couple of months of regular visits before you get to shoot 1,000 yards.

Well all those ranges are 4 to 5-1/2 hours away from the Virginia Beach area, including Quantico. Uh Oh......

I feel the same way. I wish we had some nice open plains that we could do some free long-range shooting. Sadly, you need to own a ton of land and in the right county to make it happen easily. Everything else involves lots of hotel stays.

Love shooting distance, haven't done it for years.

I have no hints, or clues on this one, but posting to see some solutions later!
