Laws that won't change, but should.

Talking with some folks who are avid gun owners, I realized how restricted we are to any sort of mental health care.

We CANNOT go "talk to someone" , because the official line is to "disarm us for our own safety". I got military folks in my circle that go through stuff, but keep it inside, because they don't want the Local/State/Federal guv'mint to come marching in, and take their firearms.

That's messed up. They NEED help, but cannot get it without sacrificing one of their civil rights. It's not good.

A good pastor would help to fill that void, if you can find one. A great many pastors are sitting far on the left, these days, and those that don't, tend to be quiet and subtle about it, but pastors that are firm Constitutionalists, and believe, specifically, in the 2nd Amendment, DO still exist. I know a couple of them. It's just a challenge to find them, sometimes.

One won't obtain meds, this way, but it's still someone to talk to. And, there's the spiritual aspect of it, too.

You don't have to be a Christian to see a pastor, either. Pastors meet, all the time, with folks who are not Christian, and aren't members of their Church.

That's actually brilliant.

Didn't even think of that... AND if your church isn't a POS Prog/Commie one, probably be okay!

Good call!

Considering how many "negative" experiences I have engaged in with "church leaders", it's why I had to study on my own, and learn for myself.

Its not just getting the guns being taken away that keeps the Military from seeking mental help. Seeking mental help also affects how the command looks at you. Your chances for promotion or re-enlistment are greatly decreased.

Which makes no sense, you see a problem, and you want to fix it before it causes an issue. Like Oil changes, and new brake pads...

(shakes head) The world thinks gun owners are already off the deep end, they have no idea that most of us are more stable than NON-gun-owners!

That's called "projection". They attribute you/us with what they would do in the same circumstances.
