Hello, I'm Jake, I'm moving from the gulf coast of Ms to Charlottesville 2 weeks from today.
I've never shot in competitions or anything like that but I shoot fairly regularly, I'd like to get into competitions as well as introduce a friend of mine to more advanced shooting, she has shot recreationally before and I think she would really enjoy shooting competitively.

Here is the gun I shoot the most, my 7.5" 556 SBR or "The Noisy Cricket" as my friend refer to it as.

Welcome here! We are in Bumpass which is south of Charlottesville and really only go that way when we have to goto UVA.

Thanks Guys! Cville can't be as bad as San Diego where I used to live.

You need to check out the Rivanna Rifle and Pistol Club.
Over 100 acres of ranges for just about anything you can shoot.
Archery, skeet, trap, several outdoor ranges including one 300 yard lane.
Plus the club house with two 25 yard, 6 lane (IIRC) ranges limited to pistols and .22lr rifles.

There are many members here that would be glad to give you a tour. Or you can show up for a Sunday prospective member orientation.

I'll have to check it out, I just got moved and still have to get my DL and everything straightened out and get moved into my apartment, it may be a few weeks before I make it in.
