New McDonald's Uniforms

McDonald's has updated their uniforms, and this has, apparently, generated some controversy:

Of course, no one mentions why anyone should really care. Unattractive uniforms sort of come with the territory, when one works in fast food. These are beginner jobs, or if needed, filler jobs (temporary employment to generate some income in between a previous job, and the next actual job)

Also, I am guessing that the folks who are complaining have either completely forgotten what McDonald's uniforms looked like back in the 70's and 80's. Either that, or they are too young to remember. Or, it's likely that they weren't even born.

Regardless, as long as it adheres to codes of decency, McDonald's can do whatever they want with their uniforms. Personally, I'd have dispensed with the modern informalities, and put some collars on those shirts, and maybe even required ties, but, it ain't my company, so it ain't my business.

Bottom line, if you don't want to wear that uniform, don't work there. If you feel that you MUST work there, go get some practical skills. Then you won't have to work there.

My first job was at McD's in 2010 and I was there about a year before I was up and on to better things. Good times, but man the number of people I worked with there that still work there, or in a similar job, is astounding to me.

Those uniforms are ugly and definitely look dystopian but the old ones are ugly to sooooo.......

Lol, Jake; wait until your approaching 40, and some of those guys are STILL at McDonald's, or some place similar.

There are folks that were a couple years ahead of me in high school, that I used to hang out with back then. Many of them are still working the same entry-level jobs, going to the same parties, etc. That truly boggles my mind. Also, that's why I stopped associating with them, and started associating with people that wanted to advance in life.

Not hard to figure out. They won't show dirt (and probably not grease). Isn't THAT a comforting thought?

I don't know. Look more professional to me than the garish past uniforms.

Almost like a subtle re-branding from... a bunch a teenagers pushing Happy Meals to kids under the guidance of a creepy clown, to... grown-ups selling real food to grown-ups.

Probably easier to change their "cheap, crappy food" image than to actually change their cheap crappy food.
