A Day Without Women

Theoretically, we've got a day without women coming up. I imagine that it will likely be about like the Day Without Immigrants, or that Government Shutdown that happened a while back. Both those events went by, completely unnoticed by me.

I asked my mother if she planned to participate; she laughed uproariously, made mention of a job she needed to keep and paychecks that she needed to earn, and indicated how stupid and short sighted that whole thing is. (I do seem to recall hearing about a few immigrants who found themselves jobless, recently)

Anyway, here's a write up on this exercise in asininity:

Hey we should have a day without men, AND WATCH AS THE WHOLE DAMN WORLD LITERALLY STOPS! Sweet jeebus does anyone actually act like an adult anymore? Do they realize this is the equivalent of a child running away to show what life would be like without them only to come back with their tail tucked between their legs when they see they have no effect on it?

I'm just going to leave this here:

Could we call "The Day Without Women", "The Day I Made My Own Sam'ich"?

So...Alexandria educators requested the day off in sufficient numbers, and were granted that request, that the administrators decided to close the schools for that day. As one puts more thought into the actions of those teachers and administrators, one realizes that the public sector is on board with pushing political agendas to the point of discomfort to those they serve.

I don't think they had their request granted. They are union. Its more they the said "We're all taking the day off or we shut the schools down indefinitely."

Unions can be busted...I just don't know how much authority the State allows localities for making decisions like this.

Men who now have to take off work because their kids are not going to be in school should bind together and file suit against Alexandria school board for lost wages.

PG County and some DC schools are closed too. Total BS.

Eventually common sense will return to the nation, if we have a nation left...

The views of those BELOW the Millenials are VERY CONSERVATIVE. Like generations before it, they see the mess made by their parents with "left-leanings", and are becoming how Gen X'ers who chose REAGAN moved the needle.

Those "hippies" are gonna have a hard row to hoe soon.

My wife is a teacher, although not in Alexandria. If she wants a day off and she is not sick, she has to put in a request for a day of personal leave. The key word in that sentence is "request." Until a substitute volunteers to take her class, it is a request. The school district can disapprove the request. I don't know what Alexandria's policy is, but if it's similar, by allowing all of these teachers to take the day off shows that they were complicit in this political campaign. The teachers also probably got paid for their day off, too.

Wrong. My daughter teaches for DC public schools. They were not closed today. She went to work.

I really liked a title in zero hedge today:
"America's Women Go On Strike, Pledge To "Avoid Spending Money" (Men Celebrate)"
