As a truck driver, I stop for fuel frequently. I'm only able to stop at Pilots or Flying J's, as per company policy. So, I have a reward card for that chain. I get a point for every gallon of fuel I pump into my tanks, with each point having the value of a penny. Having dual 150gal tanks, I accumulate between 2 and 3 dollars in points, every time I fuel. As I don't actually pay for fuel (company picks up that tab), that's basically free money that I can spend in the store.

I have been hoarding points for a while, but I decided to burn a bunch of them, last night. There's a CB that I'vebeen eying for a while (Uniden Bearcat 980), plus I have been wanting a new satellite radio receiver (wanted the OnyxPlus). The CB is on sale this month; nearly $100 off. So, I got it. The satellite receiver has a $70 rebate going on, too.

So, not only did I pick up a couple of big ticket items for free, I'll be receiving a $70 Visa gift card. For nothing.

And, I still haven't used all of my points.

When I used to travel I accrued a lot of points with Holiday Inn. One year I did all of my Christmas shopping using them. Pretty cool what you can trade them in for.

With that new radio you'll be coast-to-coast and wall-to-wall!
