Sig has issued a mandatory recall for all MCX rifles to replace the first generation bolt carrier group. QC factory testing has resulted in extremely rare safety defect in the blackout versions but has to decided to changeout all bolt carrier groups to customers free of charge. The company will send you a UPS postage paid box to send in the original and they will return an improved bolt carrier group to your home plus a $50 credit for Sig store products. Do it quick, before they discontinue the MCX and move on to their next "new and improved" model like they did when the dropped the 556/556R and then the 55X platforms after just a couple/three years.
I was so impressed with my 556R but eventually lost interest in in when SIG wondered around trying to figure out what to make next. I almost bought a 55X in 7.62X39 as a "step sister" to the 556R but now I'm glad I passed up that buy.
Good luck to any of you that have the latest/greatest SIG rifles, maybe this is the one they'll stick with.

KeIu brought this up on the 23rd. I bought the pistol version... gen 2 MPX. Seems like one of the best weapons I've bought. Hopefully they will refine it and keep it around for awhile.

They don't have a track record of doing that, but maybe this time is different.
