So you might have heard that the libs are trying to petition the electoral college to elect hillary... They have over 3M signatures already. Here is one that I found that is for keeping things the way they are . I have read some articles that say the electoral college cant just change , but who knows.

Is it worth signing this:

https://www.change.org/p/donald-trump-k ... hite-house

And they have this:

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/884/512/ ... president/

And a few others.

What do you think?

As I understand it, faithless electors are not federally forbidden, but some states to forbid the practice. As it is, 42 electors would have to be convinced to change their votes. And, those 42 would have to come from states that allow the practice. This, of course, assumes that electors that are beholden to cast votes for Hillary don't also go faithless and cast in favor of Trump.

I don't quite understand why electors aren't Constitutionally forbidden from changing their votes. Seems to me that not forbidding faithless electors can defeat the whole purpose of the Electoral College.

Electors also aren't required by any law to vote the way their constituents vote (us/popular vote). One has to wonder what really goes on at that "college" during election times.

Anyway HRC has already conceded, and that should count for something. Although I have no idea the laws behind that notion.

She did concede but they are pushing hard to keep her

We need to get more people on board to this .. have 500 between 2 petitions is sad. I guess contacting the nra or something would be an idea too.

Okay, so, many of you know that I am not an attorney, but I have spent years studying Constitutional law with a major university. The petitions are not going to change anything. The whiny little babies can cry all they want, it just doesn't matter... and here is why.

The Electoral College "technically" has not voted yet. Trump was elected by the Electoral College via "pledged votes", meaning they have not voted yet, but when they do so on Dec 19, they pledge to vote for a specific candidate. It is actually illegal in 29 states for a Elector to vote against their pledge.

I can only find 6 instances in the last 100 years when an Elector made a "faithless" vote. They were only symbolic and made zero impact on the election results.

There is zero statutory code mentioning a petition to force a change in pledge. Also, the point spread in this election is so big, almost every Elector in every state where changing their pledged vote is legal, would have to change their vote in order for Hillary to win by 1 point.

Nothing is impossible, but there is basically no way in hell 1/3rd of the states Electors are changing their minds. Especially given that in the extremely rare occasion it does happen, its been 1 person.

Now, lets say the unthinkable happens and 32-33 Electors change their vote. Congress convenes on January 6th to approve or reject the electoral college vote. If the entire Electoral College process fails with a massive rogue vote, then the House of Representatives selects the President and the Senate selects the Vice President. This is the only legal, Constitutional method for the election process.

With the House and Senate both under control of the Republican party, there is no way Hillary or any other person not part of the GOP would be selected as POTUS. If anything, an even more Right leaning politicians will be selected than Trump and Pence.

What can realistically be done within the law by "them" since she has already conceded? I guess that is the question.

They can "push" all they want but how would they, or this, circumnavigate the laws on having conceded already?

Thanks for the info Mark.

all this talk of law makes me laugh a bit. Since when has the law been a boundary for HRC or her supporters?

Both left and right are more and more hardened into their positions, to the point of a total rupture.
In my view, it will lead to a massive violent confrontation.

Absolutely. I have been saying for years that we will have another civil war in my lifetime. If the political Right didn't win this election, I think that would have emboldened the Leftist to lash out at people like us even more that they have been. There is only so much we the producers will tolerate from the takers before we push back.

Hopefully, now that a political party with people who care about law and order has full control, our police and military can do what they need to. That may buy us more time before the next big domestic conflict.

Don't you suppose there could be a big conflict when the EC votes Trump in on 12/19? I am pretty well convinced that when that happens, the riots we are seeing now will look like temper tantrums by comparison.

Yep. It's going to be bad. On the news today, professional protesters are already complaining because the District won't issue permits to legally protest at the White House or National Capital.

So glad I'm not in DC anymore.
