Michael Vance killed 2 family members and 2 police officers. While running a road block and while being pursued, Michael Vance was firing on Troopers with a rifle... a Trooper who is a SWAT team member gives chase and shoots his AR through his own windshield while driving, hitting Vance. After an injured Vance exits his vehicle, the gun fight continues for about a minute before Vance is finally killed.

Pretty crazy stuff. Not for the faint of heart.

Nice. I wonder how many times he was hit..?! Looking at the video, looks like they dumped a LOT of rounds in him, after he was down. Pretty awesome, & pretty crazy to see cop shooting out his front windshield while driving down the road in pursuit

Is it just me or did that look a lot like they were serving a no-knock warrant for unpaid parking tickets?

Its fortunate that occurred in a very rural area and they were able to employ that level of force without great danger to the public.

I watched another video where a reporter asked the Capt. why they shot so much after he was down. He said that there was little to no light where Vance was actually laying. So the Troopers couldn't tell if he was moving or not.

But, yea... The Trooper shooting through his own windshield was the odd thing for me. LoL. At least it worked.

That's funny. I could bitch about how no-knock violates the Constitution for hours... but I don't want to derail my own thread so soon. Hahaha

No doubt. That was an unusual event for sure. No way that would fly on city streets.

When I first read about the LEO shooting through his windshield visions of nearly every movie with a rolling firefight came to mind.
Never thought I hear about it in real life.

Makes me wonder if the Trooper saw too many movies.... I won't armchair quarterback, but I have to say "REAAAALLLLYY!?!?!"

Its is specifically a technique that is taught in more advanced tactics courses. Though usually taught in a static scenario.
