Just a joke

The was once a marine biologist that was studying a type of dolphin that seemed to live forever. One thing he found out was that they lived exclusively upon a diet of sea birds.
One day he was heading into the dolphin habitat with their next meal when he realized that there was a lion sleeping right in front of the habitat entrance. Not to disturb the big feline he carefully stepped over him.
The man was immediately arrested for violating the 1910 Mann Act.
He was found guilty of transporting gulls across a sedate lion for immortal porpoises.

I got all of it except the part about "gulls" and had to look up the 1910 Mann Act.
By the way - Bery Punny.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mann_Act
An Act to further regulate interstate and foreign commerce by prohibiting the transportation therein for immoral purposes of women and girls, and for other purposes.
It is named after Congressman James Robert Mann of Illinois, and in its original form made it a felony to engage in interstate or foreign commerce transport of "any woman or girl for the purpose of prostitution or debauchery, or for any other immoral purpose." Its primary stated intent was to address prostitution, immorality, and human trafficking, particularly where trafficking was for the purposes of prostitution.

Lol.
I had looked up the Mann Act, several years ago, after watching the movie "Convoy". The following exchange prompted me to look it up, to better understand the reference :
MELISSA: Well I think I've had just about enough of this, thank you very much. I'll think I'll take my things and GET OUT. If you'll pull over to the side, I'm sure I can hitch a ride very easily... Weren't you listening to me? I said I'm ready to get out!
RUBBER DUCK: You want out? We're being chased. You want out? Jump.
MELISSA: You want to add the Mann Act to your collection?
RUBBER DUCK: Mann Act's for 18 year olds, not someone who's seen the better side of thirty!
The movie is a bit cheesy, but fun to watch on a do-nothing day. Also, it's got a few one-liners that would probably send your average SJW to the ER to have their overly sensitive sensibilities treated for micro aggressions.

Buford T. Justice listed the Mann Act among The Bandit's transgressions. Seems to me that the first I heard of it was in Wambaugh's "The Onion Field".

Not bad but it requires too much thinking to be a good joke, sort of like the time traveler joke: The bar tender says we don't serve time travelers here! A time traveler walks into a bar.

Ha. I like the time traveler joke, too.
I do like jokes that require a thought process. And, being a guy that loves words, I also love good puns. And bad puns.
