Got a Compliment About My Suppressor Today

I was doing a little static shooting with a buddy of mine at Elite today. I was running a few more rounds through the MPX and doing some rapid fire with the M4 clone. We were in the 25 yard range since we were doing mostly pistol stuff.

There was a guy who was very obviously teaching a group of new shooters some basic accuracy technique. I fired 10 shots from the M4 without the can on it, and then fired 20 more shots with the can on it. I did this to show my buddy the sound level difference between the two. The guy teaching, in the next lane over, came up to me while I was out of the both. He said that listing to the rifle while suppressed was "blissful" and he made another compliment as well.

Needless to say, I was flattered. Its always fun when another shooter compliments you on your gear. But, that got me thinking... I know it's a PITA to got through the process to get a can... and many people rightfully don't have much trust in our government when it comes to 2A stuff, but I can't recommend enough that you get a can.

If you take the cool factor out of it, the hearing protection and recoil reduction are amazing. The cool factor is just a plus. LOL

until 41F into effect, there was LESS paperwork to buy a NFA item, than a title 1 firearm.

Yep. With the exception of the wait for processing... it was much easier. Now, it sucks. I have to have a state background check, 2 federal background checks, get finger printed and have a photo taken. I'm just waiting for the hair and DNA sample to start being required.

add a urine, semen, and fecal sample, and you can simplify, and just enclose your underwear.

No, it will require to get all neighbors on the block to testify that you are a good guy.

The last update I got from my LGS, he was getting stuff back last week from 5 months ago. I can only imagine that anything after 41F went into effect will take forever.

Wow! That's about 10,000 NFA items in a day!

unless ATF put a lot more workers on the line, SS might have single handedly backed the system up 18+ months.

I hope not. My kid wants me to SBR his new pistols and get him a couple cans... a year and a half would be horrifying.
