America is going down the drain much faster than I was expecting.
Help draft Khizr Khan to run for State Delegate in the 58th district in Virginia. He would be the first ever Muslim American to hold this seat.

The definition of "ultimate sacrifice" must have succumbed to "Newspeak". Is Khan dead, and how does a dead guy run for office?

The article you posted has the father as having made the sacrifice.

Obligatory.

But yeah, I know of "the ultimate sacrifice" as dying for your country, not having your son die for your country only so you can be used as a political prop. Let's see what else we can get out of this petition/fundraiser.
Why you should support Khizr Khan

We need more candidates like Khizr Khan, not Donald Trump, to run for office in America.
I'm ok with people getting interested in running for office, but that doesn't tell me anything about Khan or why I should support him.
Mr. Khan is someone who has achieved the American Dream and made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. Donald Trump couldn't even name a single sacrifice he has made.
How did he achieve the American Dream? What has he sacrificed? Still no information.
Help draft Khizr Khan to run for State Delegate in the 58th district in Virginia. He would be the first ever Muslim American to hold this seat.
Wait, discriminating against someone's race or religion is bad, but discriminating FOR someone's race or religion is good? This still isn't telling me anything about Khan.
In this unfortunate climate of misinformation about minorities and immigrants, let's send a message to Donald Trump and his supporters - this is the kind of candidate we want running for office in our country - this is the kind of candidate that we can be proud of.
This whole paragraph about why people should support Khan has pretty much been an anti-Trump paragraph. You would think someone as distinguished as Mr. Khan with his American Dream and ultimate sacrifices would make for easy and numerous examples on why someone should support Mr. Khan that it wouldn't even have to mention Trump.
Yes We Khan!
Wait, now you're just playing with me. Yes We Con? I mean, Khan. Well, at least they're being upfront about it.

What I gather is, Khan is qualified for this position because:

A) He is not Donald Trump

B) He has lost a son in battle

And

C) He is a Muslim, and no Muslim has ever held that position before.

***************************************

In other words, supporting this man in this particular endeavor is supposed to give you warm fuzzies, derived from engaging in PC behavior.

I wonder if this wasn't planned, a while back. Here is a Muslim guy, who happened to have a son who died in service to the United States. What better way to jump start his political aspirations than have him denounce Trump at the DNC? That guarantees that the whole country will know the guy, since it is well known that swatting Trump makes him punch back. Not only is this guy an instant celebrity, but now Hillary has a distraction that she needs.

And, hey, Hillary can always use another local politician in her pocket, to help push her agendas through.

This guy's sudden political run just seems a little too coincidental, to me.

I like you a lot (not in a creepy kinda way) and I think you are a decent guy... please don't take this as an attack on you. I just want to make a quick observation based on my opinion.

I don't think its a question of catching up. The article says the father "made the ultimate sacrifice". More specifically, the father said HE "made the ultimate sacrifice". Well, no, he didn't. Words have meaning and when you say someone "made the ultimate sacrifice", that means they died for selfless reasons. They have sacrificed themselves for the sake of others.

Khan did not make the ultimate sacrifice. His son, an American hero, did. In fact, the parents made no sacrifice whatsoever. Sadly, they did suffer a loss, but that is a far cry from "the ultimate sacrifice".

"from hell's heart,I stab at thee". Khan/Ahab. Kinda fits the current narrative.

The only Khan I'll vote for is Genghis... and even then...

I'd probably be riding the steppes with him...

First is he a Virginia resident? Second is he a resident of the 58th district? If the answer to either is no then he can not run in the district. Unfortunately when did that ever stop the democrats?

Does he even what to run? Doesn't seem like it.
