First, Happy Turkey day to all.

I've lived in the area for about 10 years, retired from the Air Force out of the Pentagon. I am also active in the BSA and a local motorcycle club.

I got my first handgin this past year. All I have to say about that is:

THANK GOD FOR VA. AND OPEN CARRY!

I occasionally go with my son (NRA certified instructor) to Sharpshooters. The other one is in college in Baton Rouge.

I am hoping to apply for my CWP sometime in the next few months.

Fill out this form:
http://www.vsp.state.va.us/downloads/SP ... 1-2009.pdf

Then take your DD-214 and drivers license to your local Clerk of Courts along with 50 bucks and you will have applied for your CHP.
