‘Under the Gun’ Director Refuses to Apologize to ‘Radical’ Group
On Wednesday, Stephanie Soechtig told Variety magazine that “had I known that the NRA would focus on eight seconds of a two-hour film, I might have done things differently. But I made the creative decision and I stand by it.”

Soechtig also revealed her true anti-gun rights agenda when she huffed: “If I wanted to make them [Virginia Citizens Defense League] look bad, I would have focused exclusively on their radical ideology. But I didn’t do that.” Later in the interview, Soechtig added: “It’s interesting that they’re focusing on what’s not in the film instead of what is in the film, because if they focused on what is in the film, it would threaten their livelihood. This is very textbook gun-lobby intimidation tactics, and I won’t be intimidated....There is a small but noisy fringe in this country. They’ve been really loud, and to be honest they’ve been really successful in preventing our legislators from passing any meaningful legislation on this issue.”

And her livlihood depends on the numbers of views of her film...so, those that are leery of her stance should watch the film to prove to themselves that they disagree with her stance, thereby financially supporting her. Yeah, right. I never watched any of Michael Moore's films, either.

Can VCDL can insistently ask FBI and ATF to follow this?

I'd like to see the ATF pursue a case on Soechtig and the poor producer that broke several laws trying to show how easy it is to "legally" (illegally) buy a gun. Unfortunately they will probably track down the seller and remove that "menace" from the streets while praising the "bravery" of the "journalists" for tackling such a heavy issue.

She asked a very important (focus of all the "wanted" gun control measures) question and deleted the replies? That is pretty sad.

Every discussion about gun control seems to include the desire to "improve" background checks and keep people from buying off the streets.

Huh. I guess that the words "radical" and "fringe" have been redefined to mean the opposite of the original meanings.

Good to know.

Incidentally, I thought that being part of the radical fringes was supposed to be cool and hip, and all that spiffy jazz.

Her "small but noisy fringe" owns about 200 million firearms and billions of rounds of ammo. If the "small but noisy fringe" were as looney and crazy as she says we are, she'd know it.
