I don't like what the first paragraph indicates. This seems they are tied to other state/local police departments for any arrest.
Just another "where-are-the-guns" scheme.
Why doesn't the government understand everyone respects the 2A and just assume everyone has a gun? If they run a name and it does NOT indicate they have guns will they approach them differently?
This is wrong! Let those who think they are benefiting and safer from the database be the ones to pay. Vote for or against -- those for pay the tab. See if they feel it is worth it or not.
Still remain puzzled -- who do they think will follow these laws except the "already-law-abiding" citizens?Hawaii could become the first state in the United States to enter gun owners into an FBI database that will automatically notify police if an island resident is arrested anywhere else in the country.

The cost to enter names in the database will be covered by a fee paid by gun owners, which wasn't defined in the bill.

I think this also violates the FOPA ACT 1984 ( Firearms Owners Protection Act ) under the the registry prohibition.

Laws don't seem to matter anymore.

Laws don't apply to criminals. All this action does is let us know who the criminals are.
